Meeting Nika

Since finding out that my dad got a new puppy, the girls have been anxious to meet her. Last Sunday, the 12th we decided to go to Kelowna to do just that. Well, actually, it was Connie's birthday and since Delaney's is on the 17th we decided to have a joint birthday supper. We went up early in the day and spent a bit of time getting to know Nika. Nika is a purebread cocker spaniel who is now 9 weeks old, and what a cutie she is. We were warned before we left home that Nika is teething therefore is into biting feet, or any little appendage she can reach with her mouth. After telling Brooklyn this in the van on the way up all she kept saying was "puppy, bite, feet!" To our surprise, Nika was on her best behaviour and the girls were even able to take off their shoes without the fear of little teeth chomping their toes. Brooklyn just loved the puppy as did the other girls but there was just something about Brooklyn's size that Nika loved. Steve and I left the girls with grandma and grandpa for the afternoon and went shopping at Michaels(I got some cool scrapbooking ribbon), Marks workwearhouse(new uniform pants for me), and Costco(capri's for me!!). The girls and the dog spent some time at the park which tired the youngest ones out, with Brooklyn and Nika both having a nap on return home. We got back around 4 and the family showed up for a yummy bbq'd baron of beef supper, complete with b-day cake. Avery was exhausted and was asking if we could go home so we did return early, and I am surprised no one fell asleep on the way home.

oh my goodness. What an adorable little thing. My kids would be jealous. Well, actually, Aliah bought herself 2 mice and two separate cages, so she has her quota of pets. Aidan wants a mouse too, but we are currently hamster sitting for someone else and our house has enough rodents in it.
Anyways, cute, cute, cute!
