Prima Ballerinas

The dance season has officially come to an end with Delaney and Avery both dancing in their end of season performances this past weekend at Summerland School of Dance. Delaney was in her 4th year of ballet and Avery her second, and the ballet performance this year was the 3 little pigs. I am so proud of how far the girls have come in their dancing. When Delaney was just 4 and about to do her 1st performance I remember almost having to bribe her. Almost on the verge of tears she did her performance and now this year goes out with confidence and a smile, no looking back. Avery has never hesitated to go on stage. She just beams, smiling and laughing through her whole performance. This year Delaney was a yellow bird, who in the ballet brought sticks to one little pig. Avery was a red ant, one among 18 little red ants in the class. Their job was to bring bricks to the other little pig. They both danced in 3 performances and did an awesome job each time. After skating was done they both decided that maybe they wouldn't dance next year but just skate. After this recital they have both informed me that they would indeed be dancing next year. But until then I am glad it is done for awhile!
